“Attempted Cyber Fraud in the Name of the Municipal Commissioner” — Ranchi Municipal Corporation Issues Alert; Beware of Fraudulent Foreign Numbers
Ranchi: Issuing a crucial warning to the general public, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation has stated that WhatsApp messages are being sent from a foreign number (+84 566696967) by misusing the name and official designation of the Municipal Commissioner. The Corporation has clarified that this number is entirely fake and fraudulent.
According to the Corporation's administration, the official mobile number of the Municipal Commissioner is +91 9431115814. Consequently, citizens are advised to exercise immediate caution if they receive any calls, WhatsApp messages, requests, or instructions in the name of the Municipal Commissioner from any number other than this official one.
The Ranchi Municipal Corporation has appealed to the public to immediately mark such suspicious numbers as “Spam” or “Report” them, and to refrain from sharing any personal information, OTPs, bank details, or engaging in any financial transactions.
