Relief in Store for Small Hospitals: Exemption from Clinical Establishments Act Proposed for Facilities Up to 50 Beds
Ranchi: Several key decisions were reached during a meeting between Additional Chief Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh and the Jharkhand chapter of the Indian Medical Association, aimed at streamlining healthcare services across the state. In a move designed to provide relief to small hospitals, a proposal has been put forward to exempt facilities with up to 50 beds (30 beds in rural areas) from the purview of the Clinical Establishments Act.
During the meeting, assurances were also given regarding an increase in the stipend for junior doctors—a proposal that is set to be tabled in the next Cabinet meeting. Furthermore, it was stated that pending payments due to private hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat scheme would be released within 15 days. Additionally, decisions were taken to implement improvements to the HEM portal and to revive cases that had been automatically cancelled.
