People over 40 should get their eyes checked once a year: Dr. Prabhat Kumar
Ranchi: On the occasion of World Glaucoma Day, an awareness program, morning rally, and workshop were organized at Sadar Hospital, Ranchi. Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar presided over the program. A morning rally was flagged off on this occasion, attended by health workers, district-level officials, and students from the ANM School.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar stated that glaucoma is a disease that gradually affects vision without obvious symptoms. He advised that people over 40 should get their eyes checked at least once a year. Timely diagnosis and treatment can prevent permanent vision loss. Glaucoma screening is being conducted free of charge at government health centers in the district.
