Orientation Workshop on Inclusive Education in Lohardaga: Emphasis on Integrating Children with Disabilities into the Mainstream
A one-day orientation workshop was organized at the New Nagar Bhawan in Lohardaga with the objective of promoting inclusive education under the Jharkhand Education Project. The program was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp by District Education Officer-cum-DPO Das Sunanda Chandramauleshwar, along with ADPO Monidipa Banerjee and Emleen Surin. During the workshop, emphasis was placed on encouraging teachers, administrators, and parents to cultivate sensitivity towards children with disabilities and to integrate them into the educational mainstream. Detailed discussions were held regarding the identification of disabilities and strategies for intervention, in accordance with the RPwD Act, 2016. Special emphasis was also laid on home-based training for children with severe disabilities. Teachers, BRPs, CRPs, and parents from all blocks participated in the program.
