Birth of an Asiatic Lion Cub in Ranchi; Special Arrangements for Visitors
The birth of a tiny Asiatic lion cub at Ranchi's Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park has become a source of great excitement. Park Director Jabbar Singh stated that a female cub was born on November 28, 2025, following the mating of 'Abhay' and 'Sabari'—lions brought from the Nandanvan Zoo in Chhattisgarh. A few days after her birth, the cub's health deteriorated, prompting her isolation and the provision of specialized care. Thanks to the continuous efforts of the Forest Department team, the cub is now completely healthy and is approximately four months old. Currently, she is being kept in the nursery alongside her mother. Special arrangements have been made to allow visitors to catch a glimpse of the cub via CCTV.
