Arguments Concluded in Ranchi Court; Four Accused on Bail Directed to Appear
Ranchi: The court will deliver its verdict on January 9 in the case involving the seizure of a large consignment of 1630.67 kilograms of Doda (Poppy Husk). The date for the decision was fixed after arguments from both sides concluded on Friday in the court of Additional Judicial Commissioner 18.
The accused facing trial in the case are Birsa Munda, Fazil Khan, Mohd. Tasleem, Mohd. Ali, and Sanika Munda. Of these, four accused are currently out on bail, while Birsa Munda is lodged in judicial custody. The court has directed all four accused who are out on bail to appear physically in court on January 9.
It is noteworthy that on May 25, 2021, the Dashamfall Police Station recovered 1630.67 kg of illegal Doda from a truck. The Doda was being illegally transported by the truck. During the operation, three accused were arrested on the spot. An FIR was registered in this regard at the Dashamfall Police Station.
