Ranchi, 16 January 2026: On the directions of Ranchi Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Mr. Manjunath Bhajantri, the Ranchi District Transport Department conducted a special inspection drive at Khadgarha Bus Stand, Kantatoli, to strengthen road safety. Deputy Transport Commissioner-cum-Secretary Mr. Harvansh Pandit, Motor Vehicle Inspector Mr. Vimal Kishore Singh and District Transport Officer Mr. Akhilesh Kumar jointly carried out a detailed inspection of sleeper buses.
The drive focused on strict compliance with the recommendations of the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT), installation of FDSS (Fire Detection and Suppression System), adherence to CMVR 1989, AIS:052 & AIS:119 standards, and fitness provisions. A total of 21 vehicles were checked, and notices were issued for non-compliance. A meeting was also held with bus owners, who assured timely implementation of the required safety measures.
