Additional Administrator Sanjay Kumar Conducts Surprise Inspection in Bazar Tand; Issues Strict Warning, Establishment to be Sealed Upon Recurrence
Ranchi: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has intensified its actions against Single-Use Plastic (SUP) by adopting a zero-tolerance policy for complete cleanliness and environmental protection in the city. In a significant operation led by Additional Administrator Sanjay Kumar on Saturday, major punitive action was taken.
Despite the complete ban on SUP by the State Government, RMC received reports that some traders were flouting the rules. Following a tip-off about the illegal sale of SUP by a store named Bhagwati Plastic, the Additional Administrator personally rushed to the Bazar Tand, Upper Bazar area.
Action Taken On the Spot
During the surprise operation against the illegal sale of Single-Use Plastic:
* Approximately 140 kilograms of banned plastic material were seized.
* A heavy fine of ₹50,000 (Fifty Thousand Rupees) was immediately imposed on the concerned shopkeeper.
Additional Administrator's Strict Warning
Additional Administrator Sanjay Kumar issued a stern warning to traders:
> "If the sale or use of any type of plastic that harms the environment is found again, the trade license of the concerned shopkeeper will be cancelled, and the establishment will be sealed. No negligence or rule violation will be tolerated in the campaign to make Ranchi city clean, safe, and environmentally friendly."
He also made it clear that if RMC-allocated shops are found selling or using SUP, the shop allocation will be immediately canceled.
The Assistant Administrator and the Enforcement Team were present during the action. The RMC stated that this action is not just a warning but a concrete step towards a clean future, and the campaign will continue relentlessly.
