In view of the severe cold wave prevailing in Ranchi district, the district administration has intensified relief measures to support the needy, destitute, and vulnerable sections of society. As part of the initiative, blankets are being distributed extensively, and bonfires have been arranged across all blocks and at major intersections in the Ranchi urban area to provide protection from the biting cold.
The entire relief operation is being personally monitored by the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, . He has been conducting night inspections at key locations across the city and is directly involved in blanket distribution to ensure that no one suffers due to the cold. Earlier, strict instructions were issued to all concerned officials to guarantee that every needy person receives timely assistance during the cold wave.
As part of the ongoing campaign, the Deputy Commissioner visited the old age home located at Chirondi in , where he distributed blankets among elderly residents and inmates of the shelter. The elderly beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the district administration and shared their happiness after receiving relief from the cold.
On the occasion, Assistant Director (Social Security), Ranchi, Ravi Shankar Mishra, along with other concerned officials, was present.
The district administration has appealed to the public that if anyone notices a homeless or destitute person suffering from cold, they should immediately inform the District Control Room or the nearest police station or block office so that timely assistance can be provided. The administration has reiterated that protection from cold remains a top priority and that this relief campaign will continue uninterrupted.
