Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan Inaugurates; Message of Discipline and Health
Ranchi: The 2nd All India Judges Badminton Tournament–2026, organized under the auspices of the Jharkhand High Court, had a splendid launch in Ranchi on Saturday, January 3, 2026. This national-level competition, aimed at boosting sportsmanship and health awareness among members of the judiciary, is being held at the Thakur Vishwanath Shahdeo Indoor Stadium in Khelgaon Complex.
Key Highlights of the Inauguration
The tournament was jointly inaugurated by the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Justice R. Mukhopadhyay, Justice Anubha Rawat Choudhary, and Captain of the Indian Women's Hockey Team, Nikky Pradhan, by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
In his address, Chief Justice Chauhan stated that sports promote discipline, team spirit, and mutual cooperation. He expressed hope that this event would inspire judges to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Major Participants
The tournament features 31 judges from 9 High Courts across the country (Jharkhand, Allahabad, Madras, Telangana, Bombay, Rajasthan, Kerala, Karnataka, and Orissa) demonstrating their athletic skills.
Matches are being contested in four categories: Men's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Singles, and Mixed Doubles.
Administrative Support
For the significant contribution of the District Administration to the successful organization of the tournament, Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi, Manjunath Bhajantri, was felicitated by Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay.
The semi-final and final matches of the competition will be played today, Sunday, January 4, at 9 AM.
