Public Suffering Due to Non-Functional Lifts in Collectorate Block B; Heart Patient Woman Makes Emotional Appeal to Chief Minister

Ranchi: The non-functional lifts in Block B of the Ranchi Collectorate have been causing severe inconvenience to the public for several years. People from distant rural areas visit the building for various official works, including women, children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities. With all lifts out of service, they are forced to use the stairs, regardless of age or health conditions.

Block B is equipped with eight lifts, but all of them have remained dysfunctional for a long time. To cover their poor condition, large posters of the Chief Minister have been placed on the lift doors, effectively hiding the real issue.

The team of m Bharat 24 News Live witnessed an emotional scene inside the building. A woman was seen gasping for breath while climbing the stairs to the third floor. While speaking to the reporter, she said she is a heart patient and was on her way to the DTO office. At times, she even has to go up to the fourth floor, which worsens her physical discomfort.

She stated that all eight lifts being out of service forces people like her to struggle daily. According to her, many helpless individuals face similar difficulties every day, yet the situation remains unchanged.

The woman, Hani Dhan, made an emotional appeal to the Chief Minister to urgently repair the lifts in Block B. She pointed out that although the lift doors display large photos of the Chief Minister, the lifts themselves remain out of operation. She requested that the lifts be repaired as soon as possible so that people’s hardships can be reduced.

Local residents also expressed concern, stating that the continuous malfunctioning of lifts in such an important government building reflects administrative negligence. Thousands of people visit the Collectorate every day, and the non-functional lifts make the experience extremely challenging for all.

Now, all eyes are on the state government and the Chief Minister to see how soon they address this issue and restore the lifts, providing much-needed relief to the public.
