The district-level Silver Jubilee celebration of Jharkhand Foundation Day concluded on Saturday at the historic Jhanda Maidan. The programme reflected on 25 years of the state’s development journey and called for collective efforts towards inclusive progress in the district
Foundation Day Event Inaugurated with Balloons and Lamp Lighting
The event was inaugurated by Urban Development Minister Sudivya Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Ramniwas Yadav and Superintendent of Police Dr. Vimal Kumar, who jointly released balloons and lit the ceremonial lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sudivya Kumar extended greetings to the people of Jharkhand on the occasion of statehood and said that Jharkhand is a state full of infinite possibilities.
He added that Dishom Guru Shibu Soren had envisioned a developed, educated and self-reliant Jharkhand—an aspiration the Hemant Soren government is actively working to fulfil.
Women’s Role in Statehood and Development Highlighted
The Minister emphasised that the contributions of women in the struggle for a separate state and in the development of Jharkhand cannot be overlooked.
Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmed also addressed the programme and shared his thoughts on the state’s progress.
Honour to Activists; Launch of Development Projects
During the event, Jharkhand movement activists were honoured for their contributions. Several development projects worth crores were inaugurated and foundation stones were laid.
Appointment letters were distributed to youths, while several beneficiaries received vehicles and e-rickshaws for self-employment.
Large Public Participation
The ceremony witnessed the presence of DDC Smita Kumari, SDM Shrikant Yashwant, leaders of various political parties and a large number of men, women and youth from across the district.
