Jharkhand Governor Calls 25 Years of Statehood a Moment of Pride

Ranchi, 15 November:

A grand ceremony was held at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi on Saturday to mark Jharkhand Foundation Day. Addressing the gathering, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar called upon every citizen to pledge their active participation in building a strong, prosperous and developed Jharkhand.


Governor’s Address on 25 Years of Statehood

The Governor said that the completion of 25 years of Jharkhand is a moment of self-pride, reflection and renewed commitment for all its residents. He noted that the foundation of the state is built upon public aspirations, struggles and dreams.

Paying tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Sidhu-Kanhu, Nilambar-Pitambar, Phulo-Jhano and all freedom fighters, the Governor said their sacrifices have enriched the legacy of the land. He also remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, acknowledging his decisive role in the creation of Jharkhand, and said that the state exists today because of his vision.

He added that it is a matter of pride for the people of Jharkhand that the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda is being observed nationwide as Tribal Pride Day.

Recalling his days as a parliamentarian during the formation of Jharkhand, the Governor said he had contributed by voting in favour of the creation of the state in 2000. He paid heartfelt tribute to the late leader Dishom Guru Shibu Soren for his role in the statehood movement.


Progress Across Sectors in 25 Years

The Governor said that over the last 25 years, Jharkhand has achieved significant progress in education, agriculture, mining, energy, sports and culture. He highlighted the state’s natural and mineral wealth, cultural heritage and hardworking citizens as Jharkhand’s biggest strengths.

Stressing the need for planned development of religious, cultural and natural sites, he said such initiatives would promote tourism and generate large-scale employment opportunities.

He acknowledged that challenges such as gaps in education, health concerns, poverty, unemployment and migration still persist, but expressed confidence that these can be overcome through public cooperation, good governance and effective policy implementation.


Call for Public Participation

Governor Gangwar said he firmly believes that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jharkhand will play a significant role in the vision of a developed India by 2047.

On the occasion of the silver jubilee year, he urged every citizen to renew their commitment towards contributing to a strong, prosperous and developed Jharkhand.

At the ceremony, the Governor also visited an exhibition on the life of the late Shibu Soren and reviewed various departmental stalls displayed at the venue.
