Jamtara Road Accident: Health Minister Irfan Ansari Meets Bereaved Family, Issues Strict Warning to Doctors
In a tragic road accident that took place in Jamtara on Saturday, Vishal Yadav lost his life while his brother sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH), Dhanbad. The family has alleged that negligence during treatment after the accident worsened the situation, ultimately leading to the fatality.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari visited the bereaved family at Posta village under Narayanpur Block late Saturday night. The family members accused the doctors at SNMMCH of delaying proper medical intervention, claiming that timely treatment could have saved Vishal’s life.
Expressing displeasure over the reports of medical negligence, the minister issued strict instructions to medical officials over phone. He warned that there would be zero tolerance toward doctors who abandon their government duty for private practice. He further stated that any negligence proven during inquiry would lead to immediate suspension without prior notice.
Dr. Ansari directed the SNMMCH administration to ensure that the hospital superintendent personally monitors the injured patient’s condition in the ICU. He also ordered the formation of a special team of expert doctors. Emphasizing that the hospital is well equipped, he said that unnecessary referrals would not be allowed.
The minister said that government doctors are not merely entitled to draw salaries—they are responsible for saving lives. He added that any form of negligence would not be tolerated and assured that he is personally monitoring the case.
Dr. Ansari consoled the family and assured them that a thorough investigation would be conducted. He has also sought a detailed report from the hospital administration. Meanwhile, the condition of the injured youth remains critical, and a team of doctors is continuously monitoring his health.
