Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tara Chand on Tuesday inspected the venue of the upcoming Watershed Festival at Umri Football Ground under Kolsimri Panchayat of Kudu block. He reviewed the site of the Amrit Sarovar to be inaugurated at Umri, the plantation area, and issued necessary directions to the technical experts of the Watershed Mission, Lohardaga.
The state-level Watershed Festival will be organised at Umri Football Ground, where Deepika Pandey Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Jharkhand, will participate as the Chief Guest. During the programme, the Hon’ble Minister will felicitate achievers for exemplary work under the Watershed Mission. She will also distribute awards among seven winners under Janbhagidari Cup 2025, release technical manuals and guidelines related to the Watershed Mission, unveil a coffee table book on watershed initiatives, and inaugurate the web portal of the Jharkhand State Watershed Mission.
Key Directions
The Deputy Commissioner inspected arrangements at the main venue, including entry and exit routes for visitors, construction of the main stage, seating arrangements for spectators and villagers, seating for participants arriving from other districts, parking arrangements for small and large vehicles, and the clearing of bushes along the main road to the programme site. Necessary instructions were issued to the officials concerned.
Present on the occasion were Deputy Development Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, Additional Collector Jitendra Munda, District Panchayati Raj Officer Anjana Das, District Transport Officer Jaya Sankhi Murmu, District Public Relations Officer Shivanandan Badaik, Block Development Officer of Kudu Santosh Oraon, Block Development Officer of Kairo Chhanda Bhattacharya, technical expert of Watershed Mission Lohardaga Prince Kumar, and others.
