Awareness Programme Held at Rinpas Mental Hospital Under “Legal Services at Your Doorstep” and “Drug-Free India” Campaign

DLSA Ranchi spreads legal awareness and promotes transparency at the grassroots level


Ranchi:
An awareness programme was organised on Saturday at Rinpas Mental Hospital, Kanke, under the initiative “Legal Services at Your Doorstep & Drug-Free India” by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ranchi. The programme aimed to promote justice awareness, transparency and access to legal rights at the grassroots level.

Present during the campaign were LADC Advocate Virendra Pratap Singh, PLVs Jameel Akhtar, Rajendra Mahato, Aamir Suhail, Devanti Kumari, Babita Kumari, Bhanu Devi, Masira Khatoon, Malti Devi, Sarita Kumari, Rasharda Devi, Phuleshwari Devi, Malti Devi, Raja Verma, along with the Panchayat Mukhiya and Panchayat Secretary.


Citizens informed about key constitutional rights

Addressing the programme, Advocate Virendra Pratap Singh informed participants about Articles 14, 15 and 21 of the Constitution, highlighting equality before law, prohibition of discrimination and the right to life and personal liberty. He also explained Article 39A, which ensures free legal aid for the poor, helpless and needy.

He stated that the District Legal Services Authority, Ranchi, is always committed to helping individuals who cannot present their case in court or are deprived of justice due to lack of resources.


Awareness on legal aid, rights and welfare schemes

Participants were briefed about the NALSA-led “Ghar-Ghar Nyay Ki Jagriti” scheme and informed about:
• rights and legal protection for tribal communities
• rights of persons with disabilities
• issues related to human trafficking and prevention
• drug abuse and rehabilitation
• rights of mentally ill persons
• Lok Adalat proceedings
• POCSO Act
• NALSA toll-free helpline 15100

Information was also given regarding various government welfare schemes available for the public.
