UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to visit India on October 8th for a two-day visit


New Delhi: At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Keir Starmer will arrive in India on October 8th for a two-day official visit. This will be Prime Minister Starmer's first official visit to India.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, during this visit, the two Prime Ministers will meet in Mumbai on October 9th and review progress in various aspects of the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership under 'Vision 2035'. This 10-year roadmap covers key areas such as trade and investment, technology and innovation, defense and security, climate and energy, health, education, and people-to-people contacts.

The two leaders will also discuss opportunities arising from the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with business and industry leaders. They will also deliberate on issues of regional and global importance.

Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Starmer will also participate and deliver keynote addresses at the sixth edition of the Global FinTech Fest in Mumbai. The two leaders will also interact with industry experts, policymakers, and representatives from the innovation sector.

This visit will build on the momentum and collaboration generated by Prime Minister Modi's visit to the UK on 23-24 July and further strengthen a modern and visionary partnership between India and the UK.
