A strategy has been developed to attract a large number of tribals to the Hunkar Maha Rally: Geeta Shree

Jharkhand/Ranchi: Tribal organizations, social workers, and members of the public from various districts of the state met in Siromtoli, Ranchi, on Saturday to prepare for the upcoming Adivasi Hunkar Maha Rally on October 17th, to protest the demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for the Kurmi-Kurmi caste.

In a press conference following the meeting, former minister Geeta Shree Oraon stated that a strategy was developed to attract a large number of tribals to this mega rally by launching a campaign in all districts to strongly oppose the unjustified demand and movement by the Kurmi (Kurmi, Mahato) caste to become ST.

She stated that the demands of the Kurmi (Kurmi-Mahato) caste are a conspiracy to marginalize the indigenous tribals by usurping their constitutional rights, political representation, reservation, employment, land, and the glorious history of tribal rebellion. He said that this demand of the Kudmi-Kurmi community is an attack on the identity and existence of the tribals.
