Police detained AJSU leaders staging a sit-in protest

Jharkhand/Ranchi. The AJSU Students' Union staged a sit-in protest at the Welfare Department building in Morabadi on Wednesday over the scholarship issue.

The police detained AJSU workers protesting the non-disbursement of post-matric scholarships for the past two years when they refused to end the protest and took them to the Bariatu police station.

During this protest, the police detained several leaders, including AJSU Students' Union Executive President Bablu Mahto and Vice President Rituraj Shahdev.

In protest of this police action, AJSU leaders have threatened to intensify their protests.

Earlier on Wednesday, students from several districts joined the protest near the Welfare Department building from early morning, but despite the entire day having passed, no department employee came to negotiate with them.

On the spot, AJSU Students' Union Executive President Bablu Mahto said that the state government has failed on almost all fronts. The future of poor and middle-class students is being ruined by stealing their rightful funds, while the same money is being spent on the Maiyaan Samman Yojana. When students gathered to demand their rights, the police, at the behest of the government, forcibly arrested them. This is a despicable act.

Participating in the protest were AJSU Student Union Executive President Bablu Mahato, Central Vice President Rituraj Shahdev, Aman Sahu, Ravi Roshan, Yogesh Kumar, and others.
