Jharkhand/Ranchi : Questioning the current political and social situation in Jharkhand, former Jharkhand activist Surya Singh Besra expressed deep concern about the state's direction. He issued a press release on Monday, stating that burning issues are languishing due to a lack of leadership in Jharkhand. He said that it is beyond comprehension how and who will solve all the problems. He stated that today, Jharkhand's politics has become issueless and valueless.
The movements lack proper leadership, leaving burning issues entangled and hanging.
Besra raised 10 major questions. These include the non-implementation of the PESA Act, the denial of tribal rights to forest land, the lack of land protection despite the CNT-SPT Act, the lack of action on the Land Restoration Act, and the continued reduction in forest area, among other serious issues.
He said that despite the local policy of 1932, 77 percent reservation policy, inclusion of Santhali language in the Eighth Schedule, neglect at the educational and literary level and continuous change of governments, the picture of Jharkhand not changing is a matter of concern.
