Jharkhand/Dumka: The meeting of the District Tourism Promotion Council was held on Thursday in the presence of Shikaripara MLA Alok Soren of the district.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman, District Tourism Promotion Council Abhijeet Sinha. In the meeting, many important decisions were taken for the overall development and beautification of the major tourist places of the district. The Deputy Commissioner directed to prepare an action plan for the overall development of the Maluti temple complex.
He said that a VR room should be built in Maluti. Through this, the visiting tourists can get historical and religious information related to the temples through virtual medium. Also, the District Transport Officer was directed to take necessary action to decorate the entire complex in front of the main temple with colorful lights and to start bus service to Maluti under the Gram Gaadi Yojana.
In the meeting, the concerned department was directed to prepare an estimate to install benches for tourists to sit on the Mayurakshi River View (Selfie Bridge) and to ensure adequate lighting on the entire bridge. On the occasion of World Tourism Day on 27 September, it was decided to organize tourism related photography and videography competition at important tourist places of the district.
Apart from this, the Deputy Commissioner directed to prepare a proposal for the development and beautification of Srishti Pahad (Srishti Park) and Sido Kanhu Murmu Shaurya Smarak Park. Necessary guidelines were also given to the concerned officer regarding the boundary wall and beautification of Santhal Kata Pokhar.
During this, MLA Alok Soren also gave many important suggestions for the development of tourism in the district. Officers of various departments including District Sports Officer were present in the meeting.
