New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Bihar Chief Minister Women's Employment Scheme via video conferencing at 11 a.m. During this, the Prime Minister will transfer ₹10,000 each directly to the bank accounts of 7.5 million women in Bihar, totaling ₹7,500 crore. This scheme of the Bihar government aims to empower women and promote women's empowerment through self-employment and livelihood opportunities. This information was provided in an official release.
According to the release, this scheme will provide financial assistance to one woman from every family in the state, enabling them to start employment or livelihood activities of their choice. This will promote economic independence and social empowerment. Under this scheme, each beneficiary will receive an initial grant of ₹10,000 through direct benefit transfer, with the possibility of additional financial assistance of up to ₹2 lakh in subsequent phases. Beneficiaries can use this assistance in areas of their choice, including agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, sewing and knitting, and other small-scale enterprises.
This scheme will be community-driven and, in addition to financial assistance, community resource persons associated with self-help groups will also provide training to support their efforts. Rural haat-bazaars will be further developed in the state to promote the sale of their produce. The launch of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana will be a statewide program at various administrative levels, including district, block, cluster, and village. More than one crore women will witness the program.
