Notorious Mayank Singh brought from Azerbaijan to Jharkhand, will be produced in Ramgarh court

                                 

Ranchi:. Jharkhand Police's most wanted notorious criminal Mayank Singh alias Sunil Singh Meena has been brought to Jharkhand on Saturday morning. The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) team reached Birsa Munda Airport with Mayank Singh amid tight security. From where Mayank Singh was sent to Ramgarh from Ranchi Airport amid tight security. After appearing in Ramgarh court, the ATS team will take Mayank on remand. Jharkhand ATS SP Rishabh Jha himself had gone to Azerbaijan to bring Mayank Singh.

According to Jharkhand Police Headquarters, a total of 48 cases are registered against Mayank Singh in various districts of Jharkhand. The highest number of cases against Mayank are registered in Hazaribagh district. Cases are registered against Mayank in police stations like Barkagaon, Keredari, Korra, Hazaribagh Sadar of Hazaribagh.

On one hand, the ATS team has succeeded in its mission to bring Mayank Singh from the Republic of Azerbaijan, on the other hand, the review of the cases registered against Mayank in the police stations of all the districts of Jharkhand has been completed. All kinds of evidence and witnesses will be needed to get Mayank Singh punished. This is the reason why, on the instructions of the Police Headquarters, the police stations where the case is registered against Mayank have been reviewed.

Apart from this, cases are also registered against Mayank Singh in Ranchi, Ramgarh, Palamu and Giridih. According to the information received from the ATS, cases are also registered against Mayank Singh in Chhattisgarh's capital Raipur and Rajasthan. Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh Police will also interrogate Mayank Singh.

According to the information given by the Jharkhand Police Headquarters, Jharkhand ATS issued a red corner notice against accused Mayank Singh by submitting a charge sheet in the court on the basis of evidence in Ramgarh, Patratu (Bhadaninagar) police station case number 175/22. On the basis of the red corner notice, on 29 October 2024, accused Mayank Singh was detained in the Republic of Azerbaijan. After detention, the Republic of Azerbaijan demanded an extradition dossier.

After this, the extradition dossier was made available to the Republic of Azerbaijan through the Ministry of External Affairs on behalf of Jharkhand ATS, in light of which a case was filed against the accused in the Baku Criminal Court of Azerbaijan. On 27 January 2025, permission was granted by the Azerbaijan Baku Criminal Court for the extradition of accused Mayank Singh to India. CBI, New Delhi informed Jharkhand ATS through correspondence and directed them to take necessary action regarding extradition. After which all the necessary action regarding extradition of the said accused from Azerbaijan Republic to India was completed by ATS. Azerbaijan again informed through correspondence on 04 August 2025 that accused Mayank Singh was handed over to the Indian officer on 22 August.
