Jharkhand : A dahi handi breaking competition was organized at Albert Ekka Chowk under the aegis of Shri Krishna Janmashtami Committee, Ranchi. The program started at 4:30 pm with bhajans and tableaus of Ganesh Vandana. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar officially inaugurated the dahi handi competition by breaking the decorated butter-filled pot with a coconut on the stage. On this occasion, Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth, MLA CP Singh and many other distinguished dignitaries were present as special guests.
On this occasion, Patron of the Committee cum Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth welcomed all the guests. He said that on behalf of the people of Jharkhand, I congratulate Janmashtami in this event. He told that in the Namo Dahi Handi competition, the height of the pot for male Govinda has been kept at 25 feet and for female Govinda it is 20 feet. 3 minutes time was given to all the Govinda teams by the organizing committee. Male and female Govindas were in different colored T-shirts with their teams. Each team consisted of 25 to 30 Govindas whose age was above 18 years.

Out of 6 teams of male gobindas, 5 gobindas participated in which all the five teams could not break the pot at the height of 25 feet and none were successful. After that the height of the pot was made 20 feet for all the 5 teams.

Bajrang Dal, Mandar and National Yoga Team broke the pot in 18 seconds. The first prize was 1 lakh. It was given to both of them in cash by dividing it by 50 thousand. The second prize of 41000 rupees was given to the Hindu family and a shield was also given.

Water, tea, biscuits were distributed by Marwari Yuva Manch and juice was distributed by Virendra Jaiswal at the venue
Medical facility: Ambulance facility was provided by Marwari Yuva Manch. District administration, local police station and Municipal Corporation also provided full support.

Dahi Handi breaking competition was inaugurated by Santosh Kumar Gangwar (Governor), Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth, CP Singh, Ajay Maru, President Mukesh Kabra. On this occasion, the Governor said that it is a matter of joy that for the past several years, a grand Dahi Handi competition has been organized here, I was present among you on this occasion last year too. I am very happy to see your enthusiasm and excitement. He said that Lord Vishnu's incarnation Shri Krishna gave the invaluable message of religion, love and justice to humanity. Every aspect of his life inspires us and teaches us something. We should learn from the life and teachings of Lord Krishna. It is clear from his life that only through love, goodwill and mutual cooperation is it possible to build a strong, prosperous and developed society. He said that on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, we should all take a pledge that we will always follow the path of truth, love and duty and contribute to the progress of society and nation.
