Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was attacked during public hearing, accused in custody

 

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was attacked by a person during a public hearing on Wednesday. The police has taken the accused into custody. This attack took place at the Public Service Center located at Chief Minister's residence Civil Lines Raj Niwas Marg. The police is investigating the matter and the Chief Minister's security has been increased. BJP leaders have strongly condemned this attack and demanded action against the culprit.

     According to agency sources, the accused reached the Chief Minister on the pretext of giving a complaint during the public hearing and attacked her. The police has taken the accused into custody and taken him to Civil Lines police station and he is being questioned.

   Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva strongly condemned the incident and said that during the public hearing today a person came to the Chief Minister, gave some papers and suddenly tried to pull her by holding her hand. During this, there was a little pushing and shoving. He told that after the incident he has come to meet the Chief Minister. He said that the Chief Minister is a strong woman. The Chief Minister has a minor injury on her head.

   Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has strongly condemned the attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during the public hearing. He posted on Twitter that the Chief Minister's fearless engagement with the public and unwavering commitment to public service clearly makes the opposition restless, which is resorting to such shameful tactics. I wish her strength, safety and speedy recovery.

   Former Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi posted on Twitter that the attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is highly condemnable. There is a place for dissent and protest in democracy but there is no place for violence. It is hoped that the Delhi Police will take strict action against the culprits.
