East Singhbhum: Jharkhand's capital Ranchi is going to host Defense Expo East Tech-2025 for the first time from 19 to 21 September. Organized in collaboration with the Eastern Command Headquarters of the Indian Army and the Society of Indian Defense Manufacturers (SIDM), the event will be held at the Vishwanath Shahdev Stadium in Khelgaon, Ranchi.
More than 200 defense and technology vendors will participate in this three-day grand event, including more than 50 MSMEs and startups. Apart from this, DRDO and many leading private companies of the country will also showcase their technical and military capabilities. There will be a live demonstration of army equipment in the program, as well as an exhibition of state-of-the-art defense technologies and various equipment.
Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth on Saturday interacted with the intellectuals and businessmen of the city at a hotel in Bistupur, Jamshedpur and gave detailed information about the expo. He said that defense experts, industrial institutes, technical institutes and small and medium industries from across the country will be a part of this event. This expo will not only showcase India's self-reliant defense production capacity but will also become a platform to make it more strong.
Sanjay Seth said that India, which was once dependent on defense imports, is today exporting defense products to 92 countries. He said that the whole world is now recognizing the strength of Indian military power, the latest examples of which are Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev.
Appeal to make Swadeshi Apnao Abhiyan a mass movement
Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth appealed to promote indigenous products and said that the shopkeepers of the city must put up posters of "Swadeshi Apnao" on their shops. Calling to make it a mass movement, he said that traders' organizations, social and religious organizations, local clubs and all responsible citizens should play an active role in this campaign and make people aware.
Asia President Inder Agarwal said that Defense Expo is going to be organized for the first time in Jharkhand, which is a golden opportunity for the traders of entire Kolhan. There will also be B2B meetings in this program, which will establish direct coordination between traders and the defense sector and traders will be able to take advantage of it.
At the same time, BJP leader Kulwant Singh Bunty welcomed the attendees and said that the Defense Expo to be held in Ranchi will become a symbol of India's self-reliant defense capability. Just as we are moving ahead in the defense sector on the strength of indigenous technology and equipment, in the same way we will have to make a habit of adopting indigenous products in our daily life and business.
