Ranchi: Ranchi Police conducted a special drink-and-drive campaign in several parts of the state capital to curb drunk driving and promote road safety.
During the campaign, traffic police stopped vehicles at various locations and checked drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol. Those found violating traffic rules were subjected to action under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The police also advised motorists not to drive after consuming alcohol and urged them to follow traffic rules strictly. Officials said such checks are aimed at preventing road accidents and ensuring the safety of commuters.
Ranchi Police stated that strict action against drunk driving and other traffic violations will continue across the city. Citizens have been urged to cooperate with the police and avoid driving under the influence of alcohol.
