Prime Minister Modi’s Key Message at the Start of the 2026 Monsoon Session: Highlights India’s Achievements from Space to the Economy; Calls for Parliament to Function on Logic and Facts to Infuse New Energy into Development

New Delhi: Addressing the media ahead of the commencement of the 2026 Monsoon Session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to the citizens and all Members of Parliament. He remarked that just as a timely and active monsoon benefits the nation, a positive, constructive, and productive Monsoon Session provides new direction and momentum to the country's development. He expressed hope that this session would witness meaningful discussions and significant decisions regarding issues of national interest.

In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted India's achievements across various sectors over the past month, noting that the country has scaled new heights in national, international, and space domains. He mentioned the significant success recently achieved by the Indian startup 'Skyroot' in the space sector. With the startup's team having an average age of just 28 years, this serves as proof that India's youth are proving their mettle on the global stage. The Prime Minister stated that this success symbolizes the immense potential, self-confidence, and spirit of innovation possessed by the nation's youth.

He attributed the fact that young people are making a global mark with fresh thinking and new technology to the continuous reforms being implemented in India. The Prime Minister also highlighted the massive oil refinery recently dedicated to the nation in Rajasthan, the third semiconductor plant, and the country's first powerful green hydrogen train. He stated that these achievements are the result of the hard work and collective efforts of India's scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and workers.

Referring to global circumstances, the Prime Minister noted that the ongoing conflict in West Asia had caused difficulties for countries worldwide in sectors such as energy, fertilizers, and chemicals. Despite this, India maintained its economic strength and remained the fastest-growing major economy in the world, recording an economic growth rate of 7.7 percent. He attributed this performance to India's robust economy and effective policies. Emphasizing the pivotal role of Parliament, Prime Minister Modi stated that the people of the country have elected Members of Parliament to represent their aspirations and expectations. Consequently, every viewpoint within Parliament deserves respect, and every voice should be given a fair opportunity to be heard. He remarked that the wisdom and experience of the country's seasoned parliamentarians are invaluable to both the Parliament and the nation. Therefore, the House should witness healthy, positive, and constructive discussions that can steer the country in a new direction.

He noted that India's youth are moving forward with grand dreams and fresh aspirations. At such a juncture, the responsibility of Parliament becomes even greater—to deliberate seriously on issues of national interest and to make decisions that accelerate the pace of development. The Prime Minister observed, "Where there is logic and fact, there is no room for a storm." He urged all MPs to present their views based on facts and logic and to strengthen democratic traditions.

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister appealed to all MPs to participate actively in the Monsoon Session, prioritize the national interest above all else, and conduct the proceedings of the House in a positive atmosphere. He expressed confidence that this Monsoon Session would infuse new energy into India's development journey and that Parliament would play a vital role in fulfilling the nation's aspirations.
