Kidnapped 5-year-old girl rescued safely within 12 hours; three kidnappers arrested
Plot hatched for ₹3 lakh ransom; Ranchi Police rescued her from Gaya
Ranchi, July 17: In a major breakthrough, Ranchi Police safely rescued a 5-year-old girl—who had been abducted for ransom from Saparom in the Daladali TOP area (under Nagri Police Station)—from Gaya, Bihar, within just 12 hours. Three accused persons have been arrested in connection with the case.
Acting on the instructions of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ranchi, a special raid team was constituted under the leadership of the Superintendent of Police (Rural) and led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters-02) Ajay Aryan. With the assistance of the technical wing and the Gaya Police, raids were conducted at more than 30 locations. Subsequently, the girl was safely recovered from a hotel near Gaya Junction.
According to the police, the prime accused, Ramesh Kumar Mishra, previously lived in a rented house near the victim's home. Driven by greed for money, he lured the girl away to Gaya and demanded a ransom of ₹3 lakh from her family. The accused also threatened to kill the girl if the ransom was not paid. During this period, they also managed to extort ₹5,000 from the family via online channels using two different mobile numbers.
The investigation revealed that the other accused, Sachin Kumar and Monu Kumar, assisted the prime accused in hiding the girl and attempting to collect the ransom amount.
Three mobile phones used in the commission of the crime have been recovered from the arrested accused. The police stated that the girl is completely safe and overjoyed to be reunited with her mother. Further legal action is being taken against all three accused.
Arrested Accused:
Ramesh Kumar Mishra (20), Gaya District, Bihar
Sachin Kumar (19), Gaya District, Bihar
