"Whenever oppressive forces advance, a surge of revolution follows" — Chief Minister Hemant Soren

Ranchi: On the occasion of Hul Diwas, Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated, "Whenever oppressive forces advance, a surge of revolution follows." He remarked that history bears witness to the fact that popular uprisings have always emerged against injustice, exploitation, and tyranny, and the Hul Rebellion stands as the greatest example of this.

On Tuesday, at the Hul Diwas ceremony held at Sidho-Kanho Udyan in Morhabadi, the Chief Minister paid tribute by garlanding the statues of the legendary heroes of the Hul Rebellion, the immortal martyrs Sidho Murmu and Kanhu Murmu. MLA Kalpana Soren was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister noted that when the exploited and marginalized sections of society were left with no other recourse, Sidho-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav, and the brave heroines Phulo-Jhano sounded the bugle of the Hul Revolution against British rule and exploitation. He said that these brave sons and daughters sacrificed their lives without regard for the consequences, thereby conveying a message to their fellow countrymen to struggle against injustice.

Hemant Soren stated that the spark of revolution never dies out. Whenever atrocities against the weak and marginalized sections of society escalate, a new wave of struggle and change will inevitably rise. He added that Jharkhand is a land of heroes and martyrs, and the history of the legendary figures of the Hul Rebellion will forever be written in golden letters.
