Demand to extend building regularization scheme; Jharkhand Chamber raises key issues with the government

Ranchi: During the 10th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries, a demand was made to the state government to extend the duration of the building regularization scheme by at least six months. The Chamber stated that this would allow a greater number of people to avail themselves of the scheme's benefits. A request was also made to simplify the scheme's provisions and make them more practical.

At the meeting, Chamber President Aditya Malhotra announced that an international business tour to Shanghai, China, would be organized from July 13 to 19, where entrepreneurs from Jharkhand would hold B2B meetings with Chinese companies. Additionally, plans were announced to organize a state-level job fair soon in collaboration with the Jharkhand Skill Development Mission.

Business owners at the meeting expressed their opposition to the action being taken by the Ranchi Municipal Corporation, which was classifying garbage bags as single-use plastic. It was also decided to hold discussions with the Mayor regarding the re-issuance of notices to shopkeepers in the 'Bazar Tand' area.

Expressing concern over the annual 10% hike in holding tax in the Santhal Pargana region, the Chamber urged the government to reconsider the matter. Several other significant issues were also discussed, including the shortage of inspectors in the Weights and Measures Department, the formation of the Jharkhand Industrial Security Force to ensure security in industrial areas, an AI workshop, and the approval of new members.
