Paying tribute to Durga Soren, the founder of Jharkhand movement, Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated: 'His struggle paved the way for the creation of this separate state
Ranchi/Namkum: Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid homage to the memory of Durga Soren—a pioneering leader of the Jharkhand movement and former legislator—by unveiling his statue and establishing a memorial site at Lowadih, Namkum.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister remarked that the late Durga Soren had dedicated his entire life to the struggle for the creation of a separate Jharkhand state and to the fight for the rights of its people. He described Durga Soren as a visionary, a fighter, and a leader deeply connected to the sentiments of the masses—one whose life was devoted to public welfare and social justice.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren asserted that the thoughts and ideals of the late Durga Soren should continue to inspire future generations. He noted that it was through his struggles and contributions to the Jharkhand movement that the state acquired its distinct identity and the people found a new direction.
The Chief Minister stated, "We all take immense pride in dedicated and dynamic leaders like the late Durga Soren. His struggles and sacrifices can never be forgotten."
During the memorial program, various social activists and prominent citizens also paid their respects by offering floral tributes at Durga Soren's statue, thereby commemorating his invaluable contributions to the Jharkhand movement.
