Chief Minister Hemant Soren Completes Self-Enumeration Process Under Census-2027
Ranchi, May 01, 2026 — Chief Minister Hemant Soren today completed the process of 'Self-Enumeration' under Census-2027 at his residential office located on Kanke Road. On this occasion, appealing to the residents of the state, he urged all citizens to ensure active and enthusiastic participation in this significant national campaign by fulfilling their civic responsibilities. His wife and MLA, Kalpana Soren, was also present during the event.
Officials associated with the census provided the Chief Minister with detailed information regarding the registration and procedures on the online self-enumeration portal. The officials informed that the self-enumeration exercise is being conducted from May 1 to May 15, while the work of house listing and enumeration will be carried out across the entire state from May 16 to June 14, 2026. During this period, enumerators will visit households to collect data, and administrative preparations for this have been completed in all districts.
The Chief Minister stated that the census is not merely a process of collecting statistics; rather, it serves as the foundation for steering the future of the common people in the right direction. Through this exercise, it will become easier to deliver government schemes to the needy in a more effective manner. He directed officials to include personnel proficient in regional languages in the census operations to ensure proper outreach to every section of society.
Describing Census-2027 as a technologically commendable initiative, the Chief Minister called upon all citizens to contribute towards making this national campaign a success.
Present on this occasion were several officials, including Prabhat Kumar, Director of the Census Directorate (Government of India); Manjunath Bhajantri, Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi; and Sushant Gaurav, Municipal Commissioner.
