Fraud in the Name of Online Scooty Sale: Bail Plea of Accused Lolas Kujur Rejected
Ranchi:
The Civil Court, Ranchi, has rejected the bail application of the accused, Lolas Kujur, in a case involving fraud committed under the pretext of an online scooty sale. This order was pronounced by the Court of the Additional Judicial Commissioner–VII.
The case is linked to Sadar Police Station Case No. 102/2026. It is alleged that the accused defrauded an individual of approximately ₹50,000 by posting an advertisement to sell a scooty on OLX.
The complainant was summoned to an area near Don Bosco School in Kantatoli, where the deal was finalized for ₹68,000. The accused accepted ₹48,000 via Google Pay and ₹2,000 via PhonePe, and subsequently fled the scene under the pretext of going to fetch a helmet.
Police investigations revealed that the Honda Activa scooty involved in the transaction had already been stolen, and a forged registration certificate had been fabricated for it. According to the case diary, the accused was arrested near RIMS while in possession of the stolen scooty and the forged RC.
The court declined to grant bail, taking into consideration the gravity of the offense, the accused's involvement, and the preliminary stage of the investigation. The accused has been in judicial custody since March 2026.
