A meeting of the Jharkhand State Sentence Review Board was held at the Chief Minister's residential office in Ranchi, presided over by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. During the meeting, the cases of 15 prisoners serving life sentences were reviewed; following a consideration of the recommendations submitted by various departments, a consensus was reached regarding the release of six of these prisoners. The Chief Minister directed that a comprehensive database be compiled for the prisoners slated for release, and that their counseling, tracking, and monitoring be duly ensured. Furthermore, emphasis was placed on integrating them into government welfare schemes to facilitate their reintegration into the social mainstream. Several senior officials were present at the meeting.
