Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey Hoists the National Flag at B.S. College Stadium; Urges Youth to Remember Sacrifices and “Draw a New Line”
Lohardaga: The 77th Republic Day ceremony was celebrated at the B.S. College Stadium in Lohardaga. The chief guest, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation, Government of Jharkhand, hoisted the national flag.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that the country attained freedom and received its Constitution due to the sacrifices of our forefathers. She described 26 January 1950 as a golden chapter in India’s history. She appealed to the youth to understand India’s history, strengthen democratic values, and move forward with knowledge and determination, remembering the sacrifices of the past and “drawing a new line.” She also stated that the Constitution provides equal rights to all citizens and protects constitutional rights.
During the programme, tableaux presented by various departments were showcased. The Welfare Department won the first prize, the Transport Department secured second place, and JSLPS won third place. In the best parade category, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya NCC (Boys) won first prize in the school category. In the police category, the District Armed Police Force (Women) won first prize. The Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential School, Bhandra team was awarded for the best band performance.
Awards and honours were also distributed to Jharkhand movement activists, selected appointees, panchayat representatives, and sportspersons. Several senior officials and public representatives were present at the event.
