CCL Manager Arrested by CBI While Accepting ₹50,000 Bribe

New Delhi (M Bharat 24 News Live): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Deepak Giri, Manager (Personnel-HR) at the Dakra Project Office of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) in Jharkhand, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹50,000.

According to the CBI, the accused had demanded a total bribe of ₹1.5 lakh from the complainant for processing a compassionate appointment. He had agreed to accept ₹50,000 as the first installment.

Acting on a complaint, the CBI registered a case on Thursday and laid a trap, catching the accused red-handed while accepting the first installment of the bribe. The bribe amount was recovered from his possession.

The CBI stated that further investigation is underway to identify the involvement of other officials, if any, in the bribery case.
