Women making reels amidst overflowing water at Dhurwa Dam

Jharkhand/Ranchi : The Dhurwa Dam in the capital, Ranchi, has become a hotbed of danger these days. Despite one gate being opened and the other gate continuously overflowing, crowds of people are gathering there. On Wednesday, two women were seen under the dam, amidst the overflowing water, busy shooting and filming reels. This poses a threat to their lives, but a major accident could occur at any time.

Locals say that the water falling from the dam creates a strong current, increasing the risk of slipping and falling. Every day, people can be seen making reels and getting photographed. Dhurwa resident Rampravesh Singh expressed concern that young people and women are neglecting their safety due to the social media hype. He said that the dam's water is constantly overflowing from one or two gates. In such a situation, the slightest mistake could lead to a fatality, such as falling into a pit and getting swept away by the current. The administration also needs to pay attention to this.
