West Bengal/West Burdwan: Body of a youth was found hanging from a tree in Amravati Vyam Colony under Newtownship police station of Durgapur on Sunday morning. The incident caused sensation in the entire area. The deceased youth has been identified as Bhairav Khetrapal (23).
According to police sources, Bhairav was missing since September 3. His body was found hanging from a branch of a tree near his house on Sunday morning. Tension increased in the area as soon as the news of the incident spread.
The family alleges that Bhairav was murdered and his body was hung on a tree. The deceased's sister Seema Khetrapal says that Bhairav was in a love affair with a girl. But after the girl's marriage was fixed with someone else, tension started in the relationship. It is alleged that the girl's family members have murdered Bhairav.
After the incident, the angry mob vandalized the house of the girl's sister and brother-in-law. Local people allege that the entire matter was already told to the police, but they did not take any action.
