First Phase of Census-2027 Begins in Ranchi on May 1; Self-Enumeration Facility Also Available
Ranchi, April 30:
All preparations for the first phase of Census-2027 have been completed in Ranchi district. This phase is set to commence on May 1, 2026, and will involve the listing of houses and the enumeration of households.
The first phase is divided into two parts. From May 1 to May 15, citizens will be able to submit their details via 'Self-Enumeration' through the online portal se.census.gov.in; subsequently, from May 16 to June 14, enumerators will conduct door-to-door visits to collect information.
For this exercise, 4,232 officials and personnel have been deployed across the district, including 4,134 enumerators and supervisors. The training for all personnel has been successfully completed.
Principal Census Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri has appealed to citizens to actively participate in the census and provide accurate information. He emphasized that all information related to the census will be kept strictly confidential.
A helpline number, 1855, has been issued to provide assistance regarding the census. Additionally, the District Administration's WhatsApp number, 9430328080, is available for addressing public grievances.
