Amidst Growing Unrest in Congress, Radhakrishna Kishore Exercises Restraint; Decides Against Making Public Statements Until May 18

Senior Congress leader and former MP Dheeraj Sahu, along with Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, met with State Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore on Friday at his residence in Ashok Nagar, Ranchi. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the party organization, current political circumstances, and various social and organizational issues.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore stated that while he is indeed hurt by certain decisions taken by the party, he has decided not to issue any public statements until May 18, prioritizing the party's interests above all else. He added that he intends to meet with K. Raju, the Congress in-charge for Jharkhand, to present his views in detail.
Radhakrishna Kishore emphasized that the issues he has raised are not anti-party in nature; rather, they pertain to social justice, dignity, and the organizational interests of the party. He asserted that the voices of Dalits, minorities, and marginalized sections of society must be heard with seriousness, and that ensuring their participation and dignity within the Congress party is absolutely essential.
Former MP Dheeraj Sahu remarked that public rhetoric often provides the opposition—particularly the BJP—with opportunities to derive political mileage. He argued that internal party issues should be resolved through organizational platforms and mutual dialogue.
Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari stated that the Congress party has historically championed the dignity and rights of Dalits, minorities, and marginalized communities. Describing Radhakrishna Kishore as a senior leader, a mentor-like figure, and a steadfast fighter, Dr. Ansari assured him that his suggestions and sentiments would be conveyed to the party high command with the utmost seriousness.
Dr. Ansari further emphasized that, at this juncture, maintaining dialogue, restraint, and organizational unity is of paramount importance. He added that the Congress party functions like a family, and that every issue will ultimately be resolved through democratic dialogue and established organizational processes.
Senior party leader Sachchidanand Chaudhary was also present on this occasion.
