Ranchi: Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey chaired a high-level review meeting of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) to assess the company’s performance, future plans and strategic priorities. Senior officials from the Ministry of Coal and CCL’s top management, including CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh and the Board of Directors, attended the meeting.
During the review, the Minister evaluated progress in coal production, operational efficiency, compliance with mining safety standards, environmental protection initiatives, and ongoing as well as proposed projects. He issued key directions and stressed the need for innovation, technological strengthening and a long-term roadmap. The Minister appreciated CCL’s significant contribution to India’s energy sector and said the company plays an important role in ensuring national energy security. He urged officials to prioritise safe, sustainable and environment-friendly mining while working with full commitment towards the vision of a self-reliant India.
It was also noted that the Minister recently inaugurated the restart of Rajhara Colliery, expected to generate employment and boost regional development.
