Ranchi, December 24, 2025: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Vice President, Aarti Kujur, has sharply reacted to the statement of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) spokesperson following the cabinet's approval of the PESA (Panchayats Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act.
Targeting the Hemant Soren government, Kujur asserted that the PESA Act is the right of the tribal community, not a 'Christmas Gift,' as the existence of the tribal community predates Christmas.
📌 Demand to Make the Decision Public
The BJP State Vice President raised the crucial question: If the Hemant Soren government approved the PESA Act in the cabinet yesterday, why has the decision not been made public even after 24 hours?
She questioned, "What is it about the decision that the Hemant government wants to hide? How can the public and the tribal community trust the news published in the media when the media persons themselves have not been provided with any official document related to the decision?"
⏱️ 6 Years Term, Citing Corona as an Excuse
Kujur commented on the government's long tenure, stating that a 6-year term is not short for a government, and questioned how long the government would continue to cite the COVID-19 pandemic as an excuse.
She claimed that it was the strict orders of the judiciary and the continuous agitation by the BJP that compelled the Hemant government to bring this proposal to the cabinet.
🔥 'Achieved Power Through Deceit and Fraud'
Accusing the JMM, Kujur said that even if the JMM secured power in the state through deceit and fraud, it does not mean the tribal community will forget the pain and harassment they are experiencing under the Hemant government. She emphasized that the tribal society is aware of the historic decisions taken by the BJP in their interest.
Finally, Aarti Kujur demanded that the Cabinet decision be made public immediately.
