BJP using churches as a political weapon: Congress

Jharkhand/Ranchi: The State Congress Committee has retaliated against BJP State President Babulal Marandi's statement, calling it inflammatory. On Monday, Satish Paul Munjani, head of the party's state media department, said that Babulal Marandi's statement is far from the facts. Before pointing fingers at the NDA coalition government, the BJP should review its own record.

He said that the meeting held by the Simdega district administration regarding the security of churches is a constitutional and necessary step. It is the administration's responsibility to ensure the security of any religious site, be it a church, temple, mosque, gurudwara, or Sarna-Masna site.

Munjani said that calling it conversion protection is a deliberate attempt to create suspicion and spread hatred against the Christian community. He said that the security of churches is as important as the security of Sarna, Masna, Hadgadi, Manjhi Than, temples, mosques, and gurudwaras. Munjani said that giving a communal twist to the issue of security is highly condemnable.

The Indian coalition government is in favor of protecting every religious site. Therefore, the BJP should not distort this.
