Chhattisgarh/Bilaspur: On the occasion of its 76th Foundation Day, the Central Silk Board honored BTSSO Bilaspur with the "Best Organization/Institution Award" for its outstanding contribution to tassar seed silk production. On this occasion, Dr. N.K. Bhatia, Director of BTSSO Bilaspur, congratulated the entire team on behalf of the organization and expressed gratitude to Member Secretary P. Shivkumar. He also congratulated all the skilled workers, scientists, officers, employees, and all those involved in silk seed production, praising their work.
On this occasion, Scientist Dr. Jaiprakash Pandey described this as the result of a collective, coordinated effort. Scientist Dr. Hassanab Nadaf expressed his gratitude, and Scientist Komal called it a unique achievement. It is worth noting that this institute, located in Bilaspur, has successfully and effectively worked in the field of tassar silk seed production, making sericulture a means of livelihood and making significant progress in the silk industry. Those involved in the silk industry stated that hard work and dedication have not only improved the economic condition of farmers but also helped connect them to this profession. This honor was presented at the Central Silk Board's 76th Foundation Day celebrations at the Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad International Convention Center in Bengaluru on September 20, 2025. Numerous national and state-level silk sector officials and experts were present on the occasion. Sericulture is not only an important part of the rural economy but also a sustainable and profitable business for farmers. Director Dr. Bhatia thanked the Central Silk Board and the state silk departments for their continued coordination and expressed his commitment to encouraging more farmers into this field. Under the "Mera Resham Mera Abhimaan" program, the Central Silk Board has recognized the achievements of farmers and pledged to continue supporting the development of the silk industry, which is showing significant impact.
The Director stated that the Central Silk Board is honored to have honored Shri Kishan, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, and other farmers with the "Best Achievers Award" for their outstanding sericulture. Shri Kishan has achieved remarkable success in mulberry silkworm rearing. His hard work and dedication have not only empowered him financially but also set an inspiring example for surrounding farmers. The Central Silk Board reaffirmed its resolve to continuously work for the promotion of the sericulture industry and the welfare of farmers.
