West Singhbhum: Illegal gambling is going on openly under the guise of football tournament in Mongra area of Jagannathpur police station area of West Singhbhum district. Despite continuous rain, Habba-Dabba and other gambling activities are being conducted here fearlessly for the last two days.
Anti Corruption of India on Sunday strongly objected to the silence of the district administration and local police in this matter. The Jharkhand state president of the organization, Ramhari Gop, has demanded immediate intervention by tagging DC Chaibasa and Chaibasa Police on the social media platform 'X' regarding this matter.
Ramhari Gop says that not only in Mongra, but in other police station areas of the district, large scale illegal gambling dens are running in the name of football tournament. He also told that a written complaint has already been given to the Deputy Commissioner in this regard, but no concrete action has been taken so far.
Gop has demanded from the administration that the concerned station in-charge of Jagannathpur police station area should be removed immediately and raids should be conducted with independent investigation wherever such illegal activities are going on across the district.
He has also demanded that the influential people who patronize such bases should be identified and strict legal action should be taken against them. Gop has warned that if the administration does not take action soon, then Anti Corruption of India will be forced to start a mass movement.
