BJP Distorting Administrative Permission Rules to Mislead People: Vinod Pandey
Ranchi, August 24, 2026: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Central General Secretary Vinod Kumar Pandey has hit back at the BJP over its statements, alleging that the party is deliberately distorting the rules related to administrative permission for protests and demonstrations.
Pandey said that the right to hold protests, demonstrations and express views is an important part of democracy, but no right is above the law. He said organisers of public programmes are required to follow the prescribed administrative procedures, while the government has a responsibility to protect democratic rights as well as maintain law and order.
He alleged that the BJP was presenting the administrative permission process in a distorted manner to create confusion among the public. Pandey said the BJP should discuss genuine public issues instead of misrepresenting administrative procedures for political purposes.
Pandey also criticised BJP leaders for comparing the Jharkhand government with grave historical tragedies. He said such statements were irresponsible and reflected the BJP's frustration and political desperation.
BJP's JPSC Allegations Also Questioned
On the BJP's allegations regarding the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), Pandey said the decision regarding which government advocate would represent the government at different levels before the judiciary is part of the legal process.
He said that if the BJP has any concrete facts, documents or legal objections regarding the JPSC matter, it should place them before the competent court instead of creating confusion through press conferences.
Pandey Raises Maharashtra Language Issue
Pandey also referred to the alleged language-related rules in Maharashtra and questioned whether people travelling to different states for employment would now be required to pass a test in the local language.
He said citizens regularly move from one state to another for employment and business, and using language as an instrument of fear or punishment would be against India's unity and linguistic diversity.
Pandey asked the BJP to clarify its position on respecting Hindi and India's linguistic diversity
He said political opposition is an essential part of democracy, but distorting facts and making irresponsible allegations does not uphold democratic values. He urged the BJP to focus on its policies and work rather than engaging in political rhetoric.
