DLSA’s Initiative: Voices of Awareness Against Child Marriage and Child Labor Resound in Kanke
Ranchi |
On Wednesday, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ranchi, conducted an intensive legal awareness campaign across various areas of the Kanke block. As part of JHALSA’s 90-day special campaign, villagers in areas including RINPAS, CIP, Boreya Chowk, and the Kanke Block were sensitized regarding their legal rights.
Tackling Social Evils
During the awareness program, DLSA’s Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs) highlighted social evils such as child marriage and child labor as legal offenses and appealed to the public to refrain from engaging in them. Additionally, detailed discussions were held regarding the practice of 'witch-hunting' (Dain Bisahi) and the rights of tribal communities. Villagers were informed about how the Legal Services Authority could prove instrumental in assisting them in their fight for justice and rights.
Information on Welfare Schemes
The PLV team present at the venue provided information regarding various public welfare schemes operated by NALSA and JHALSA. Specifically, the benefits of schemes such as 'Yojana Saathi', 'Dawn', 'Asha', and 'Jagriti' were enumerated to ensure that justice and government assistance reach the last person in society.
National Lok Adalat on May 9th
During the campaign, PLV Rajendra Mahto also encouraged people to participate in the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled for May 9th. He explained that through this court, people could get their old and pending cases settled free of cost on the basis of mutual conciliation and compromise.
